16th of February, Monday
We spent most of our time today at Lido Key, a beautiful Sarasota beach. The water was still too cold to go in, but it was the perfect sunbathing weather. Saki was the only one, who was bored of the beach. She wanted ot go shopping.
So at lunchtime, we went to a nearby open air plaza with a bunch of expensive little shops. We windowshopped for a little while, and then, we went to Columbia Restaurant, a famous dining place in Sarasota. It's home to the "1905" Salad, voted one of the Top 10 salads in the USA.
Obviously, we had to try it. It's mainly lettuce, cheese, ham, olives, tomatoes, and a secret recipe dressing. The special thing about it is, that they mix it fresh right at your table. Personally, I liked it, but I still prefer my Dad's invention salad over every other salad.
Saki had to do some homework, so we stayed at the hotel's pool for the afternoon. We spent this night at the hotel too. We had a fun dinner in the room, that consisted of leftover Mexican, strawberries and laughs at Family Feud, a hilarious American reality TV show, in which families compete against each other, and it's hosted by Steve Harvey.
