Cal-Mum 2

26th of September, Friday

We woke up early, and had breakfast at the one and only high school Cal-Mum has. We sat at round tables, and we played a group games. Our group always lost, but oh well.
We then went to a hall in the school, and set up our presentations. We invited little children from the elementary school to listen to some things about our country. I presented our flag, some Rubik's cubes and chocolate from Herb and paprika. The kids weren't really interested most times, but there were some who asked questions. After 2 hours, we were really tired, and glad, that we didn't have to speak to first and second graders. It must be really tough being a teacher.
We took a school bus to the Genesee Country Museum, and open air museum which demonstrates how Americans lived more than 150 years ago. It was interesting, and the weather was wonderful.
Afterwards we went to the channel 13 studio! We met with Don Alhart, a local celebrity, long time Rotarian. He showed us around in the editor room, and finally the news studio. It was only a one hour tour he gave us, but it was fascinating.
Then we went home, changed, had home made tacos at another host family with my girls, Lorenzo from Italy and Pedro from Brazil. We finished the day at the Cole's house, having a bonfire and talking. It was a lot of fun, we bonded better than ever. And that's what this weekend is all about.
