1st of September, Monday
Labor Day! We were supposed to watch the parade, but it rained, and it turns out the parade was held on Friday. Oh well, at least I could sleep in.Today's morning was a lazy morning. I slept till 9, and finished the Kite Runner for AP English. It's a sad book. It could be a true story, but I was glad to read it isn't. Horrible things have happened and are still happening in Afghanistan. It's a good book, I recommend it to everybody.
Then I was supposed to organize my room, but instead I started watching Mulan. I watched it till Mulan finished her training and off they went to fight the huns. Then I got up and carried on organizing. My room looked horrible, but I did clean it in the evening.
At 5, Sun and her brother arrived. We waited at the arrival's gate, but they didn't show up. Suddenly Sun comes up from behind us, saying we accidentally missed each other, but they already got their bags and are ready to go. The girl who we've been waiting for almost two weeks now. She's very pretty, only 10 centimeters smaller than me, clever, likes watching movies (especially Marvel movies <3) and she laughs a lot. Her English is pretty good (since this is her second year in Rochester at Northstar). She says ok to everything. She seems really flexible, but it might be just an after-travel general tiredness. Sun and her brother (DJ) travelled 22 hours! and the time difference between here and South Korea is 13 hours! Talk about jetlag ...
So we took her home, showed her her room (which she was surprised about, having a whole room to her own) and the house. We gave her time to pack, then we went out to Bill Grey's. It's a restaurant, sort of. Really American. The awesomest thing is, that Greece's history is written on posters on the walls. Kind of educational. Then we went to Walmart, and I bought school supplies. 50 cents /exercise book! That's really cheap. I bought like 16.
So then we came home, I finished packing, Sun finished packing. I'm gonna finish my Mulan and go to sleep.
