First day of school

4th of September, Thursday

I was awake till 3 in the morning, to finish all my English assignments. It wouldn't have taken this much time if it wasn't for the extremely slow internet. I got 3 hours of sleep, I had to wake up at 6. It was a stressful morning. Herb took me to school because we didn't get my busspass.
I was 15 minutes early to AP Psychology. The teacher was nice, he welcomed me, and told me a few things about shcool. 2 minutes before the class started, kids started to pour in. We listened to the principal welcoming everybody and sharing important information and rules on the speaker. Then Mr. Frisa talked about his class, and what we need to do. He uses Twitter to share the homework and assignments. I don't use Twitter, but I think it's pretty cool he's so up-to-date with the possibilities.
Then came French III. I was told I'd be with juniors, but turns out this is a class for sophomores. Nobody was preforming well - but I hope that's only because of the summer vacation - and nobody was talking in French. As it turns out, the rule at home (we must only talk in French in French class), doesn't apply here, and they rarely do speaking tasks (or so the kids told me). But the group was really nice to me (the nicest from all classes), and the teacher is sweet. She's really energetic.
AP English was quite different. Mrs. Masters put me in the corner, where I couldn't really see the board. She seems very strict, but fair as well. She started off with a video of a mouse getting caught in a trap. At the end, it turned out it was a funny cheese commercial. At least I know two kids from AP English: Brooke and Courtney from volleyball. The heartbreak of AP English was, when the teacher announced the assignments are due Friday. I was just too tired to even be mad about it.
The US History class was quite different as well. The teacher, Mr. Gangarossa seems nice.
Personal fittness was promising. We won't have to swim (yay!), but we'll play tennis instead (again, yay!). We'll do a lot of single person sports, which is good.
Then finally I had lunch! It was the typical American teenage movie: the protagonist is standing alone in the cafeteria, surrounded by a bunch of people she doesn't know, and she can't sit anywhere, because she doesn't have friends yet. Fortunately, Sara Ciotti from volleyball showed up, and I could sit with her and her group for the time being.
After lunch came creative writing. My personal favourite. It really is only about writing. Just whatever comes to mind. The teacher is really funny and kind, and the group seems intelligent too.
Select choir was hard to find. I had to borrow a 4th grader to walk me to the room. Only problem was, they weren't there. Every kid involved in a music program was having an assembly at the preforming arts centre. I met Dube there, so I wasn't alone. She was really excited about everything. Some announcements and handouts, and off we went. The schoolday was over.
I stayed with Dube at Ms. Dyer's office untill our bus picked us up to take us to a game at Spencerport. Our team was good, but I think a lot of energy was missing because this was our first day of school. We lost, but we put up a fight. (When I say we, I mean the team that played, and I cheered).
So at 9 pm, I could finally go home, and rest. Oh, sorry, I have to organize my stuff for tomorrow, label notebooks and much more. I'm just too exhausted to start anything now.
